Worship

At St. John's, we celebrate our faith in the weekly worship of God. Our worship service seeks to engage all people, including children, in a personal encounter with God through dynamic liturgy, challenging sermons and exceptional music. Children are always a welcomed part of worship. If your family would be better served by nursery care for your children our competent staff is available.

Sunday Worship Service

Worship is held at 10:30 a.m. each Sunday. It is a “convergent” style of worship bringing the best of reformed, liturgical, contemporary and evangelical traditions. From September to June, music leadership is provided by the Choir of St. John’s and a Worship Team. During the summer months, special music is offered by ensembles and soloists.

“Kids of the Kingdom and 'The Mix'”

To help our children grow in their appreciation of worship, we provide the “Kids of the Kingdom” (K-4th grade)  and "The Mix" (5-8th grade) ministry. Using age appropriate curriculum children are instructed in the various elements of worship.

Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper

Members, as well as guests who profess faith in Christ, are invited to celebrate the Lord’s Supper. Church membership is not a requirement to participate in Communion. The sacrament is usually celebrated on the first Sunday of every month.

Home communion is served upon request to members unable to attend services.

Special Services

Throughout the year, additional services mid-week are designed to respond to unique church seasons or personal circumstances.

  • Advent/Christmas
  • Lent/Easter
  • Services of Wholeness and Healing

Nursery care is provided at all Worship services and special events.

St. John's Presbyterian Church participates with other area churches to demonstrate our connection with the wider church.
